Wycliffe Bible Translators

Wycliffe Bible Translators works around the world to translate Scripture into the languages of minority groups. Several years ago, Shalom and Felise joined this group to begin their linguistic and translation work in South Asia, after selecting this language group as their main focus. These languages have never been studied or recorded. Since the region is located in a restricted area, they must apply for special permits to get in. God opened a door for service. In the meantime, they are seeking to collaborate with a local group and to partner with a local university. They are very thankful for this opportunity to work in South Asia.

  • Prayer Request: Pray for their translation ministry.

Bridges International, Campus Crusade for Christ

Thank you for co-laboring with us in serving the students and scholars in East Asia!
We got to know Jesus in a student ministry, and we grew up in student ministries. After we became full time, we again minister to students and scholars. I think it is God's preparation. After we come back this summer, we are starting a new ministry, helping university seniors and young professionals. There are many ministries on university campuses in the country we are gong to. Many students have found Jesus in campus fellowships. But after they graduate, find a job, especially move to another city, what happen to them? Several years ago, campus coworkers did a survey. The results were disappointing and alarming. They found that only 10% of the Christian graduates from campus fellowships continued to be involved in some kinds of churches/fellowships and actively live out and share their faith. The conclusion of the survey was that the American campus ministry model did not fit that country. When the students graduate and move to a new place, they are faced with all kinds of pressures. And because there are not many churches around, they have difficulty in finding good spiritual homes. This survey gave birth to a new ministry called the Stage Two ministry that we will be involved in. It has two purposes: First we will prepare the senior students to face the professional pressure with Biblical principals. When they graduate and move, we keep track of them and refer them to a local Stage Two ministry in their new city. Second, we receive the graduate students from local universities and other cities. We establish fellowships and eventually church services of our own from them. So they can find themselves connected with other believers, continue to grow and share their faith to impact the whole society. There are several campus ministry teams in the city we are going to. The Stage Two ministry has just started. We thank God to put us in a pioneering position. On one hand we are very excited. On the other hand, we feel so unworthy and incapable. Please coworker in prayers!
