Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe the Bible, comprising both the Old and New Testaments, is the divinely inspired Word of God, originally without error, revealing God's plan of redemption for humanity, and serving as the supreme authority for Christian faith and life.
2. God
We believe that the eternal Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the one true God, the sovereign Lord of all creation and sustainer of all things.
3. Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, who is God and also perfect man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified for the sins of the world, experienced a bodily resurrection, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Almighty, our Great High Priest, interceding for us.
IV. The Holy Spirit
We believe the work of the Holy Spirit is to convict people to repent, be born again, and believe, and indwell, guide, and teach believers, so that believers may be empowered to live godly lives, serve faithfully, bear witness for the Lord, and glorify God and benefit others.
5. Humanity
We believe that humans are created in the image of God, fallen in Adam to become sinners, in need of God's salvation, and can only be justified and reconciled to God through regeneration by the Holy Spirit and by faith in Jesus Christ.
VI. Redemption
We believe that Christ's atoning death and resurrection are the sole foundation of our justification and redemption. All who are born again by the Holy Spirit and accept Jesus Christ by faith become children of God.
VII. Sacraments
We believe baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances the church should observe, but they do not have salvific efficacy.
VIII. Church
We believe the church is one body with Christ as its head, uniting all believers reborn through the Holy Spirit. Through worship, sacraments, fellowship, service, witness, and proclamation, we edify believers and fulfill the gospel entrusted to us.
Nine, again.
We believe that Jesus Christ will personally return in the flesh in the last days to judge the living and the dead. This glorious hope is the foundation for the lives and service of believers.
10. Eternal Life
We believe in the resurrection of the body; believers will be resurrected to eternal life, and unbelievers will be resurrected to eternal punishment.
