Editor's Note, December 2022 Issue
Beitang's 2022 theme is “Love God, Love Family, Love the Church.” God is love, and in His perfect love, there is no fear. As the pandemic has been in flux, the number of people attending Sunday services has been steadily increasing, and fellowship gatherings have gradually resumed. Not only have old friends returned to the church, which is cause for gratitude, but new friends also come from afar each week, which is a joy!
“In ”Shepherd's Words,“ Pastor Guo Dongjian refreshes our spiritual soup with the biblical message: ”Life Can Start Anew,“ ‘because people can be reborn.’ ”We, as Christians, should not just say, 'I am reborn,' but live out a reborn life!"
“In ”Mission Without Borders,“ Sister Cindy from the mother church offered thanks for ”Cross-Cultural Mission at the Door of Atlanta." She encouraged brothers and sisters to "seize the opportunity" to care for refugees, pray faithfully, and actively participate in interdenominational Muslim missions. Coincidentally, missionary Roger Lam shared blessings of peace and his personal reflections on Muslim evangelism with his message: "How do Muslims become followers of Jesus?" This is because they have seen God's love in three ways: being moved by the Holy Spirit while reading the Bible at home, coming to know Christ through business evangelism, but the most influential and difficult aspect is when Christians live out Christ's love, impacting lives with their own lives.
“In ”Life in the Lord," the North Church Choir reports on "Flying Melodies, Let Praise Soar," reviewing the October 1st joint choir music performance "Rebirth, Salvation, Hope."Sermon, testimony sharing about love, the preacher's calling to spread love, and a hopeful outlook that includes love. At the same time, brothers and sisters' love grows in the knowledge and understanding of God, deeply pondering "Why Did Jesus Perform Miracles?", joyfully reading the Bible and the life of Christ, enthusiastically attending Sunday school, and journeying together to practice the truth, "Living out the Gospel in Mutual Relationships," reducing conflict, accepting and forgiving each other.
“In ”Gratitude Witness," six recently baptized brothers and sisters share different stories of grace, giving thanks and praise to the same Lord.
May we live out a new life through the love of the cross, and “thirst for righteousness and live out Christ” in 2023!
