Nashville Short Term Mission

“God showed me reality on that trip and I know he wants me to remember it. He wants me to remember that there is inequality. He wants me to remember the faces. He wants me to remember the stories. He wants me to remember his people.”

Taiwan Short-term Mission Testimony

Since Brother Shih-hsin was invited by Xiangfu to go to Taiwan last year, I have been deeply moved and hope to be a part of this ministry. When Shih-hsin and Hongda came back, they proposed that Xiangfu's summer bilingual camp needed the cooperation of this American church. It seemed that God's calling had a clearer direction. In March and April this year, Pastor Chen Wenyi, the general director of Xiangfu, came to ACCCN to preach the Sunday message. That night, we had a dinner at Brother Yangyi's home. . .

A few years ago, Pastor Li Xiuquan gave a book to Tong GanThe second half of lifeThis is a bestseller, a good book. On its cover, there is a special title: “From Pursuing Success to Pursuing Value and Meaning.” Last year, when we decided to retire in early 2006, we began to think about how to live a more meaningful life. In 2004, we participated in our first short-term mission trip to Paris, France, and then in April 2005, we had the opportunity to broaden our horizons further by traveling to Germany with five brothers and sisters from North Church. Our over ten-day mission trip from West Germany to East Germany, visiting four cities and many fellowships and churches, left a deep impression.

Preaching Reflections

The Lord Jesus taught His disciples to pray, beginning with “three petitions.” This not only shows that Christians should hold such desires, but it also emphasizes God's own heartfelt expectations. God anticipates that all people will hallow His name, that all people will recognize His reign and rule (the coming of God's kingdom), and that all people will live according to His will. When people live in opposition and rebellion, God Himself makes efforts to fulfill these “three petitions” by sending His beloved Son to preach the gospel, accomplish the salvation of the cross, and send His disciples to evangelize everywhere, even to the ends of the earth. This reveals that our God is truly a missionary God, and that the subjects of His mission are all people in the world, every nation and every tribe, so that all people may hallow God's name. The focus of the mission is the gospel of the Kingdom of God, that God will save the lost and bring them back under His authority. The scope of the mission is the entire world, so that God's will may be done on earth as it is in heaven.
